Gwen: Can you believe that the Holiday Season is here already? Wasn’t it summer just a blink ago?

Kay: Yeah, we have to go to a party this Sunday, a house-warming a week from today, we have two birthday celebrations this month and our anniversary! And more invitations are rolling in.

Until about a year ago, I regularly bought several magazines but now I buy only one, which is Vanity Fair. It has a new editor, a young woman by the name of Radhika Jones, so it has a brand new streamlined look and pace, which took some getting used to for a long-time VF devotee like myself, but now I’m hooked.

I love drugstores, the big city ones with all the shiny packaged stuff in them, and the old ones in little towns with all the shopworn, dusty stuff in them. Those small-town drugstores are the best. You get a free trip down memory lane and sometimes a treasure, if you have eyes to see, and a nose to smell.
