Nose-to Nose - “March Break for Me” Sample Pack (Wednesday, March 9, 2011)

Kay: Spring Break is coming up soon.
Gwen: Yep. Kids are off school for a WHOLE week, parents get frantic trying to find things for them to do - camps, activities, maybe even family vacations.
Kay: Ahh, yes, I remember the golden years........I remember kids screaming and running around the house, sleep schedule all messed up, no time to myself.

Gwen:    By mid-week everyone's overtired, pizza-ed out, and picking on each other. That was when I started wishing someone would give ME a break.

Odalisque – Spring is here! (March 7, 2011 New Fragrance Listing)

It’s March – yesterday it rained and today it snowed. I’m fed up. I mean, I love winter but I am tired of it. It’s not that I crave warmer weather, it’s that I crave a change. I’m ready to move on to spring. Ahh spring! Narcissi shoots pushing their way up through the earth, stronger longer daylight, wet ground, not frozen ground. It’s coming, it’s coming…just not today. [Insert expletive here.] There is some relief though. Odalisque from Parfums de Nicolaï.

Mystère - A vintage worth knowing (March 4, 2011 New Fragrance Listing)

Cuoio – Leather lust (February 28th, 2011 New Fragrance Listing)

Beyond Love – It's definitely love

I’m the Maven of Mystery, the Seeker of Skank, the Wicken of Weird when it comes to fragrances – I like strange and different smells. Give me an animal, a vegetable, a mineral – I’ll wear it. Except for tuberose.

Nose-to-Nose - Vintage perfumes

K:    Hey, Gwen, feel like going hunting?
G:    Too cold. And it’s the wrong season.
K:    Not for vintage perfumes – huntin’ season’s all year round! Come like vintage stuff – wine, jewellery.....
G:    And I guess I should like vintage perfumes, right?
K:    The time has come, the walrus said, to speak of many things.......
G:    OK. Where do we start??

Mauboussin – It’s a gem! (February 21, 2011 New Fragrance Listing)

OK, pencils all sharpened, lined up with their points facing the same direction, soft jazz playing in the background, glass of prosecco within easy reach…and we begin.

One of my favourite perfumes has to be…

Traversée du Bosphore - A mysterious delight (February 18, 2011 New Fragrance Listing)

Wikipedia - Waterfront Houses on the Bosphorus - Ayça Leovinus

I have a friend who’s travelled to every continent, some two or three times.  A few months ago I asked her “What’s your favourite place in the world, where do you want to go back to?” and without a moment’s hesitation she said “Istanbul! Turkey!”
