Dzing! – Went the strings of my heart

I’m always intrigued by scents that are inspired by events from the past, like Fougere Bengale, which was inspired by tiger hunts, and Dzing! which was inspired by the circus. Dzing! is the work of Olivia Giacobetti for L’Artisan and was launched in 1999. It was originally called Désir de Cirque.

Bois d’Orage (French Lover) – Smells like a MAN

My mind is wandering.......HOT weather – green chypres – MEN.

What works for men in this heat? Same as for scents. Like Bois d'Orage.

Ma Griffe - Something to celebrate (July 27, 2010 New Fragrance Listing)

Image - Summer in the Kawarthas, Ontario - perfumeniche

Hot, hot hot. But I’m not complaining, just commenting. Summer is so short – only eight to ten weekends in the entire year, really – I savour every day with sun and heat.

Incense rosé – Balancing act

Jicky EdT - Thank you for waiting

My collection of fragrances is big – I’m not even sure how many I own. I've stopped counting.

Sizzlin’ Summer 2010 Sample Pack – If you can’t stand the heat, get out of my niche!

Summer - we’re having a real hot one this year. Even some people who love the heat are complaining.
Personally, I hate the heat – makes me moody, makes me edgy. I’m happier in cold weather, but given the ying and yang of the seasons in Toronto, I have to take the hot with the cold and just fuhgeddaboutit.

Acqua di Colonia – Oh, brother what a great summer fragrance!

Some people are suckers for nice packaging, some are drawn to pretty bottles, and while I have sometimes succumbed to such marketing tricks, the thing I’m a sucker for is a good back story, which brings me to Santa Maria Novella’s Acqua di Colonia

Encre Noire – Vetiver - perfume magic!

Vetiver, vetiver, ve-ti- verrrr ….What IS vetiver??? Or vetyver, as it is spelled in the world of perfume.

Habanita – Si! (July 14, 2010 New Fragrance Listing)

Habanita – Molinard – classic fragrance.  I’d read a couple of reviews, but never smelled it, and there it was right in front of me on a shelf in a little store I'd wandered into!! I bought it, thinking what the hell – if it’s horrible I’ll just toss it.

18 Place des Vosges – My Paris address
