One of my favourite Christmas films is ‘Love Actually’ and Karen, a stay at home Mom played by Emma Thompson, is one of my favourite characters in the film. I got up this morning and checked the news while I drank my coffee, and immediately felt anxious. 2017 has been a rough year for the world. It was going to be a lovely lunch in Paris between two good friends who hadn’t seen each other in a while. I was scheduled to arrive on Esther’s last day in Paris, and we planned to have lunch together at a little café around the corner from where I was staying.
