Amouage

Sunshine Woman

$7.00

Amouage, founded in Oman in 1983 by the Sultan of Oman, really became a player in the luxury niche market when Christopher Chong was made Creative Director in 2006. Together with CEO David Crickmore, Chong has reinvented and reinvigorated the line, working with great perfumers like Jean-Claude Ellena, Maurice Roucel and Jacques Flori to produce some of the richest, luxurious, most gorgeous fragrances money.

Beloved Woman

$7.00

Amouage Creative Director Christopher Chong hired Bernard Ellena, the perfumer for the Jill Sander line among others - and also brother of Hermes nose, Jean-Claude Ellena - to bring his creative brief to life: “Beloved engages the elegance and complexity of the modern woman: strong, empowered, animated, in control.”   It was a good choice, because Bernard Ellena delivers an alarmingly beautiful fragrance that marries the elegant and complex style of a vintage with the polished sophistication of a contemporary scent.

Fate Man

$5.00

Launched in 2013 by international luxury fragrance house Amouage, Fate Man, along with Fate Woman, complete the first cycle of the Amouage narrative, with Fate Man parodying the force and power of the inevitable.

Seems like pretty heavy lifting for a frag. Still, a creative brief is a creative brief and you’ve got to start somewhere I suppose, so I’m going to start with the opening.

Jubilation XXV

$7.00

For me, Bertrand Duchaufour’s signature his incense accord. I re-ignited my perfume addiction when I discovered in New York his Timbuktu and Dzonghka incense fragrances from L’Artisan Parfumeurs, spiritual, meditative incense fragrances that seem to float in cool mountain air and are like no other incense fragrances I know. The incense story in Jubilation XXV is very different from all these.
