Annick Goutal

Les Colognes Néroli

$5.00

Annick Goutal is one of my favourite fragrance lines. Their commitment to quality ingredients, and their deft hand in the use of them, can be smelled in every one of their perfumes. Consider the earthy sensuousness of Eau de Sud, the fresh vibrancy of Eau d'Hadrien and the citrusy bite of the multi-faceted Ninfeo Mio. So, of course, it’s no surprise to find Les Colognes Néroli on my must-wear list of summer fragrances.

Les Colognes Néroli is not to be confused with Néroli EdT also by Annick Goutal.

$4.00

I too have honeysuckle-scented memeoreis of Provence which makes Le Chevrefeuille a sentimental favourite, but what makes it FBW was how fresh, green and gorgeous a frag it is.

Nuit Etoilée

$4.00

Launched in 2012 by Annick Goutal, Nuit Etoilée is described on their web site as: To walk for hours close to nature at nightfall. Listening to the wild grass crumple and the pine cones crack under your feet. Collecting branches of evergreen, snapping them, smelling their resinous odor on our fingertips. Then to lie back and enjoy the moonlight, as though alone in the world... If this is the mood you are after, then this is the fragrance you want. The opening of mouth-puckering citron sweetened with juicy orange backed by green, herbal peppermint.

Songes

$4.00

Launched in 2005, Songes, which means ‘dreams’, was inspired by Camille Goutal’s honeymoon on the island of Mauritius. During an evening walk in a garden she was taken by then the intoxicating and exotic scent of white flowers at dusk.

Now, I’m not a blind fool for the ‘great whites’ - gardenia, tuberose and jasmine. They can be big and overpowering, so I’m fussy about them – they have to be done right or they put me off.

Which brings me to Songes.
