Merchant of Venice

Suave Petals

$4.00

Launched in 2013 by niched Italian house Merchant of Venice, Suave Petals was inspired by Peach blossoms, according to their press release:
“In Asia, peach blossom represents feminine beauty. During the Chinese New Year, those who wish to find love must buy a peach tree. The soft velvety touch of Suave Petals creates sensorial layers that lightly grace a woman’s skin.”

Byzantium Saffron

It makes perfect sense that The Merchant of Venice perfume line launched in 2013 at the Museum Palazzo Mocenigo should name one of its fragrances from its Murano Collection ‘Byzantium Saffron”. There’s a bona fide connection between Byzantium and Venice. This is the scent that Gwen brought back for me, a golden gem in a gem of a bottle.

Asian Inspirations

$4.00

Asian Inspirations is one of six eau de parfums in the Murano Collection launched in 2013 by Italian niche line The Merchant of Venice.

The name of the house is taken from the title of Shakespeare’s play, which was written around 1596 and whose title character is a wealthy Venetian merchant named Antonio - not the Shylock, the Jewish moneylender – and recalls a time when Venice was the centre of trade with the East, when exotic spices, silks foods and incense came through its ports.
