10 Corso Como

Located in Milan, the fashion capital of Italy, 10 Corso Como was the first concept store.

Opened in 1991 by former fashion editor and publisher Carla Sozzani, 10 Corso Como was one of the first concept stores anywhere. Their websites calls it A radical new union of culture and commerce, 10 Corso Como promotes slow shopping through a succession of spaces and events that reflect lifestyle over object acquisition. The spaces, more like rooms really, are designed to showcase art, clothes, books, jewelery, shoes, make-up and fragrances to their best advantage. Over time the space has grown to include a cafe, a flowering terrace above a garden, a small hotel and in 1999 their first fragrance, an EdP called 10 Corso Como was launched.

The first time I wore this stunner, I knew we would have a life-long relationship.

On me, 10 Corso Como opens with a note of rose along with geranium, it’s rosy facet bolstering the rose at the start. The florals linger before resting on a soft, woody aromatic sandalwood that is just sublime. Body heat makes it bloom and reveals a resinous, seductive dark heart of oud with the rose and the sandalwood still present in the background. Vetiver, musty and dry, adds another layer of woodiness and a slight smokiness. I smell the Duomo, but we’re not staying there because musk adds a warm, smooth sensuality that makes 10 Corso Como more than just another churchy-scent.
This skin scent has character, but the drydown is sensuous, clean and warm. It smells gorgeously Italian.

There are many things to love about Milan and 10 Corso Como EdP is at the top of my list!
