Launched is 2014, Land of Warriors is the third fragrance from by niche perfume house, The Vagabond Prince.

Land of Warriors is all about leather – a full-on homage to leather. And to men.

Land of Warriors opens fruity, tart and green from angelique seed, violet leaf and blackcurrant leaf. The blackcurrant along with the juniper aspect of angelique seed, set us in the enchanted forest - a nod to the house's first fragrnce, Enchanted Forest. There is leather is here too, warm and anilmalic, perfectly blended with the smell of pomegranate and blackcurrant set against notes of cucumber and tomato leaf. It’s perfect…simply perfect. As it evolves, so does the leather. It gets resinous. It gets more masculine. Oakwood absolute gives it a heady note of rum, something I always read as ‘masculine’. Saffron and nutmeg make it spicy and sultry, while fragrant davana gives it touch of sweetness before it goes through the most mouth-watering animalic phase from oregano, castoreum and ambergris with a campfire smokiness from tar. Oh, yes, that smell of petroleum that I find irresistible, hangs perfectly poised, just above the leather.

Land of Warriors showcases various aspects of leather in a way that while the fragrance has muscle, it also has a certain refinement that makes it gorgeous to smell and to wear – even for women. I guess that what makes it so magical. Actually, the magic comes from perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour.

If you love leather frags, as much as I do, Land of Warriors is where you can live happily ever after.
