New in niche
A review of Capsule Parfums’ Brood on Now Smell This led me to the company’s website. (What can I say? I’m a sucker for a review that suggests a frag is in the same league as Eau d’Italie’s Paestum Rose and L’Artisan’s Timbuktu.) And now, predictably, I want to try all four of the LA-based company’s fumes: Brood, an “old soul spice”; Squad, with leather, sandalwood and citrus; Covey, with almond, jasmine and mint; and Troupe, with vanilla, cedarwood and neroli. I love/hate it when I discover a new house! ;)
Interested in sniffing Timbuktu? Check it out here.
Makes me want to try it
I’ve tried a number of Oriza L. Legrand’s perfumes, and this review of Reve d’Ossian on The Nonblonde has me adding it to my list of “must tries” as well. The reviewer compares it to a “friendlier [Heeley] Cardinal with a sense of humor.” Now that sounds like something I’d like to sniff!
Want to give Cardinal a sniff? Gwen and Kay have it on offer.
The comparison of Reve d’Ossian to James Heeley’s Cardinal had me reaching into my cabinet for another of my Heeley faves, Sel Marin. In truth, there isn’t a single fragrance in the line that I don’t covet (or already have…). Heeley is a self-taught perfumer, and every one of his scents is divine. Check out this interview with him from a few years ago.
And check out his fragrances here on Perfumeniche: Gwen and Kay have Cardinal, Sel Marin, Coccobello, Hippie Rose, Cuir Pleine Fleur, and Iris de Nuit.
Dreaming of a sunny get-away? Picture yourself in something from Pucci’s 2017 resort line. The hat is a bit crazy, but the colours and patterns are divine!
