  • Fougère Bengale - Tiger, tiger, burning bright....

It’s that transitional time of year when I know warmer weather is coming, I just don’t know when. I nudge nature a long a bit by taking the cover off the BBQ and putting the Muskoka chairs out on the deck. Looking good. Gotta get those hanging flower baskets hung. Need to fish my sunglasses out of the purse I was using last summer…. OK, now I’m ready for the warm weather. Anytime now. Waiting. Still waiting. Where is the heat?

  • Pomegranate Noir – What are you wearing?

I was sitting in a restaurant lounge with a group of friends, having a drink and catching up, when a stranger came up from behind me and whispered in my ear "Pomegranate Noir". Wow! What a conversation stopper that was! Heads at the table whipped round to face me and all eyes were locked on mine. I’m not sure, but I think I heard a leaf fall somewhere, the moment was that vivid for me. “What did she say?” everyone wanted to know. So I told them. They looked at me like I’d been chewing on tonka beans.

  • Al Oudh - Midnight at the oasis

  • Dans tes Bras - In your arms

  • Fille en Aiguilles – warm and woody and gloriously green - SOLD OUT

Over the years, I’ve learned which houses I like and developed my own list of perfumers I track, just to see what they are up to. One of those houses is Serge Lutens and one of those perfumers is Christopher Sheldrake.

Sheldrake has created perfumes for Avon and Chanel, among others, but most of his work is done for Serge Lutens. My latest crush is Fille en Aiguilles.

  • Le Temps d'Une Fête - Garden in a bottle – May 31, 2010 New Fragrance Listing.

Green is my favourite colour – always has been. Any shade, any tint. Given a choice, unconsciously, I keep going for the green - in clothes, in decor, in art and in scent. Especially in scent.
