Hiram Green, the niche perfumer based in The Netherlands, emailed us a few weeks ago to say that he was coming to Toronto and would Kay and I like to meetup with him again, perhaps for lunch? Absolutely, we answered. We didn’t even check our schedules – we cleared them for him.

A few weeks ago we had some good friends over for supper. We get together fairly often, so it’s always easy with this group. Lots of food, wine, good conversation and laughter.

News of fragrance launches from iconic houses like Guerlain always send a frisson of excitement throughout the fragrance community and especially here at perfumeniche. But the buzz around their newest fragrance, Mon Guerlain, was, well, tantalizing.

The day in Paris when I walked into L'Eclaireur Sévigné and found Black Heart v. 2, it was Peau d’Ailleurs by Starck Paris that I was looking for. Scoring such two fabulous fragrances in one day still makes me hear the sounds of corks popping in my head every time I think of it. Ah. There they go again.
